On Sunday evening, November 19th, 2007 some of The Burn Youth Group and sponsors gave testimonies about their experiences at this year's "Fall Fling" in Bowling Green, KY

The Burn left for camp on Monday, June 18th.  9 campers, 2 helpers, and 1 chaperone will attend Camp Crestwood this week.  On Tuesday night, the 19th, The Burn's HV Team will perform "I See The Lord" in front of the entire camp!

THE HV Team Rehearsals
At our Napoleon Dynamite "Movie & A Message" Night, we had some crazy fun!  Before watching the movie on the projector screen, we challenged the youth with Napoleon Trivia, ate popcorn, sandwiches, snacks, and (of course) tater tots.  After the movie, Ken taught a message on why sometimes it isn't considered 'cool' to be a Christian in school and that sometimes we're outcast by the rest of the world... and that's ok!

After the message, Jason Hooper played Jesus and Joey Harryman played Napoleon in a hilarious skit.

Then, we had a Napoleon Dance-Off!  Cameron Riley was anxious to take the stage and did an outstanding job of her rendition of Napoleon.  Others that competed with Cameron were Bre Woodruff, Haley Winters, Kristin Hooper, April Shrum, Wes Smith, and Joey Harryman.

We had an impersonation contest and a final harder Napoleon quiz.  We ended with a "Basic Bible Knowledge" quiz to see if the youth knew more about Napoleon than the Bible.

We had some much fun - there were several first-time visitors, and we plan to continue "Movie & A Message" nights throughout the rest of the year!  Stay tuned!

FALL FLING 2006
Fall Fling was held in Frankfort this year.  After we attended the Friday night rally, we headed to our hotel in Lexington.  The next morning, we went to Gattitown for lunch and attended the Saturday Fall Fling Campus Missionary session.  After a stop by the state capitol (a picture opp, of course!) we went to Fayette Mall for a little holiday shopping spree.

At Fall Fling, The Burn had one first-time salvation, ten rededications, and commissioned seven as Campus Missionaries.

Annual Lock-In
September 22nd, 2006

We had an awesome time at this year's Lock-In!  After initiating new members into the "Cow Club", we had a time of Praise & Worship, followed by a devotion on The Grizzly Man - how we are just as crazy to think we can conform to the world.  The altars were full, and one received the baptism of the Holy Spirit!
We then ate pizza (always!) and began the games!  Jade Purdy, Jeremy Harper, and Joey Harryman got pretty far in "Who Wants To Be A Bible Millionaire?".  Then, we dared to play "Fear Factor" where teams competed to win Wal-Mart gift cards.  Several youth had to consume disgusting foods such as chocolate-covered crickets and ants, guacomole-covered chili peppers, kimchi (soured cabbage) and bacon-n-cheddar grasshoppers.  Others had to transfer pigs feet from a bowl of cottage cheese, vinegar, and tapioca pudding.  Some had to dig into a pudding-filled diaper to find a piece of bubble gum (without using their hands, of course!)
After "Fear Factor", we played a Q-Tip game (go Joey!  233 Q-Tips!!), a spelling race challenge, a "don't crack my egg" race, and played dirty little tricks on some of our most studly guys!  (Those pick-up lines were awesome, guys!  :))
If you missed the 2006 Lock-In, you missed out on the most fun night of the year!  Oh well - there's always next year!!!
